Christmas Gifts Continued - Cocoon Wristwarmers

Hello, Happy New Year! This post will still focus on Christmas gifts, as I haven't finished showing what I hooked up for family and friends!

So this time round, it's another pair of wristwarmers, inspired by this pattern, by Frumadsens. The pattern is in Danish, but automatic translation should help you, as it did me. I did the same number of rows as indicated in the pattern, but since I was using a thicker yarn (Rowan Cocoon), the wristwarmers ended up quite longer, which was my intent. Because of yarn weight, I also reduced the number of stitches in a row to 28 htr (30 stitches for the foundation chain), using a 6mm crochet hook. Automatic translation didn't do a very good job of making the instructions regarding the thumb opening particularly clear, so after playing around a little bit, I left them as they were once I'd sewn up the seam.

The flower was made following Attic24's pattern for the Triple Layer Flower, except I only made mine a double, as you can see. This one was made using Stylecraft Special DK with a 4mm crochet hook.

The edging was my own design. Using two strands of Stylecraft Special DK on a 6mm crochet hook, I did a round of slip stitches followed by a round of crabstitches, the same stitch I used for the edging of these wristwarmers.

I was very pleased with how the whole thing turned out and even more pleased that they were extremely well received as a gift.

Thanks for reading! See you soon! :)
