This is a little toiletry bag I made a while back for a friend. I used 3 fat quarters and ribbon. I really love the dainty-looking result :-)

Granny Square Skirt - The Pattern

Hello everyone! This post has been a long time coming (two years, to be exact!) but it's finally here--the pattern of my granny square skirt... ...which can also be worn as a poncho! Please note that I have used UK crochet terminology throughout. So here we go... The skirt is made of a waistband consisting of rows of back loop double crochet (bldc) in black yarn, joined at the ends and edged with a round of double crochets (dc), as shown in the graph below, where the X symbol stands for 'bldc'. Below is a pic of the finished waistband: as you can see, working in the back loops of the double crochets creates a ribbed piece which has the added advantage of being quite stretchy. Then the body of the skirt is crocheted from the waist down, creating four corners as you go along... ...and working in the following order: three rounds of treble clusters in various colours, one round of double crochets in black, and repeat... ...unt...

Crochet Clutch

Hi everyone, today I would like to share with you a project I embarked on so I could save on outfit accessories for two upcoming weddings I am attending this month. I needed a clutch bag that would go with a dress in a light pinkish flowery print. The only clutch bag I have is a stark - albeit very cute - black affair, which was a definite no-no with the aforementioned dress. Soooo, that meant I had to make one, right? It took me a while and a couple of attempts to figure out what the bag would look like. One of those attempts is this little number , which I blogged about a couple of weeks ago. It ended up looking a little more casual than I liked, and so I moved on - although I fully intend to finish it at some point. Then I found the stitch I wanted to use for my bag: this one ! Granny Square Challenge - The Skirt Reveal

UPDATE: The pattern to this skirt is now available here :) Hellooo! Well, shock horror, would you believe it, I missed last week's Granny Square Challenge! Truth be told, I was absolutely shattered after completing a huge work project (of the non-crochet variety) which had taken most of my time for two-three weeks, and the Challenge completely eluded me! Anyway, you are now long overdue a proper reveal for my Granny Square Skirt, which I finished two weeks ago , and which several of you have kindly asked to see worn. So, without further ado, I give you... the Granny Square Skirt! I must say, it took me a while to warm to this skirt. It was a bit stiff to begin with, and it didn't help that in the first pics we took of them, I absolutely hated the look of me.
