Mini Crochet Ice Cream - Free Pattern

 


You will need:

            2.75mm crochet hook

            Oddments of DK yarn, in light brown and pink/colour of choice

            Toy stuffing

            Small quantity of embroidery floss or yarn in various colours

            Tapestry needle

 

Notes: This piece is worked from the bottom up using the amigurumi method, ie. crocheted in the round continuously. You may want to use a stitch marker to mark the beginning of each round.

 

UK terminology is used throughout.

 

 


Abbreviations:

            ch = chain

            st = stitch

            ss = slip stitch

            dc = double crochet (US single crochet)

            inc = increase (2 dc in 1 stitch)

            dec = decrease (2 front loop dc together over 2 stitches)

            BLO = back loop only

 

CONE

Rnd 1: In Light Brown, 3dc into magic ring (3 st)

Rnd 2: 3 inc (6 st)

Rnd 3: 6 dc around (6 st)

Rnd 4: (1dc, 1 inc)x3 (9 st)

Rnd 5: 9dc around, DO NOT FASTEN OFF

 

ICE-CREAM SCOOP

Rnd 6: Change colours, BLO [2 dc, 1 inc] x3 (12 st)

Rnd 7: [2dc, 1 inc]x4 (16 st)

Start stuffing cone

Rnd 8: [2dc, 1 dec]x4 (12 st)

Rnd 9: [1dc, 1 dec]x3 (6 st)

Finish stuffing piece tightly

Rnd 10: 3 dec (3 st)

Rnd 11: ch2, pinch gap shut, 1 ss through to secure, 1 ss in nearest stitch to FASTEN OFF.

 

With yarn of various colours, embroider sprinkles all over ice-cream section.

 

CHOCOLATE STICK

With brown yarn: ch6, turn, skip 1 ch, 5dc in 5 remaining ch, FASTEN OFF.

 

Sew to top third of ice-cream section, weave in loose ends through stick to stiffen it and back into ice-cream section to secure.
